This video is about the direction and vision of the Yoga with Melissa channel as we move into our 10 year anniversary on YouTube as well as the specifics for July 2019.
This channel offers and will continue to offer you yin yoga, restorative yoga, yin yang yoga and yoga nidra and sleep yoga. This channel is still about real yoga for real people. As always this yoga is about more than just the physical exercise. I offer yoga for the whole person: for your mental health, your emotional health, your energetic body and your spiritual being.
As we come to our ten year anniversary on YouTube I am going to be making some changes and changing the direction of Yoga with Melissa. I talk about all these changes in this video.
In July we will finish the Yoga for Highly Sensitive People Series.
I am going to be offering two new series on my channel. One on breathwork, breathing or pranayama that will be great for anxiety, sleeping, and healing of many kinds. The second series will be for the attention economy in which we live. This will be Yoga for Attention Overwhelm. This series is intended to attend to our highly overwhelmed nervous systems and will be great for highly sensitive people, for anxiety and stress.
In this video I talk about my vision for our next decade on Yoga with Melissa. I talk about my disenfranchisement with the way that yoga is often used to build up a sense of ego on YouTube and other social media channels. I offer us a way to practice yoga so that it becomes a less self-centered activity for personal gain and rather something for the benefit of all beings.
It is my greatest hope that as we move into our second decade together that we can practice yoga to make a difference in the world. That is why I am introducing the Ocean of Love Yogathons.

The Hanuman Series is very much about the yoga of service. I recommend that you sponsor yourself $1 a class, which is $12 for the Hanuman series and then donate $12 to oceana.org This is a small way that your yoga practice can become about more than just you. I spent a lot of time researching organizations and no doubt I will receive some criticism for my choice, but I feel that if we can save our oceans, we can save our forests and we can save our world. It is an international organization with a great reputation. Additionally, if you cannot afford to sponsor yourself $1/class then there are other ways of getting involved, such as signing online petitions in each individual country.
